Description

In 1959, Jim and his wife Nancy initiated the foundation of Jim Barry Wines by acquiring their first property located on the outskirts of Clare Valley. Today, the estate boasts vineyards in both Clare Valley and Coonawarra, earning a solid reputation among critics and wine enthusiasts. Among their offerings, the single-vineyard Armagh Shiraz stands out, consistently receiving high praise from critics. Australia’s 2005 harvest was average in size, but generally very good quality and the resulting wines were elegant, sophisticated affairs. The 2005 harvest in Australia yielded a moderate crop, yet the overall quality was notably high, leading to the creation of refined and sophisticated wines.


Deep crimson. Developed dark cherry, espresso mocha, crème brulèe aromas. Richly concentrated wine with abundant dark berry fruits, fine slinky / chalky textures, espresso, mocha oak notes, attractive mid-palate viscosity and persistent fresh acidity. Finishes cedar firm with gravelly notes. 18 months in American and French oak, 100% new. Cork 15.4% alc Drink now-2032
