Description

A mature Portuguese red from the historic house of José Maria da Fonseca, founded in 1834 and one of Portugal's most celebrated family-owned wine producers.
This Garrafeira TE 1988 originates from the Arrábida appellation on the Península de Setúbal, crafted primarily from Castelão with Cabernet Sauvignon. After extended oak ageing and decades of bottle maturation, it has developed the complexity expected of a well-aged Garrafeira, offering notes of dried black fruits, cedar, tobacco, leather, spice and earthy nuances.
Presented in very good condition for its age, with an excellent fill level, intact capsule and original labels showing only light age-related wear. A scarce mature Portuguese wine that will appeal to collectors and enthusiasts seeking something beyond the better-known Douro wines.
