About the wine:
Pfersigberg is one of Alsace's 51 Grand Cru vineyards, overlooking the villages of Eguisheim and Husseren-les-Châteaux.
Its south and south-east-facing slopes of limestone and clay-rich marl are particularly well suited to Riesling, producing wines of concentration, mineral precision and exceptional longevity.
Kuentz-Bas is one of Alsace's historic producers, renowned for traditionally made wines that reward extended bottle ageing.
The 1999 vintage has now had over two decades to develop and offers the mature complexity for which aged Alsace Grand Cru Riesling is prized.
