Description

Château Langoa-Barton (St Julien) 2006: Dark and rather sweet fruit on the nose at first, just a touch raw, otherwise not very expressive, except for little notes of caramel-tinged fruit. The palate starts off quite loose and open, then in the middle shows a little more substance with a chalky presence of fruit and rather firm tannins at its core. Nicely attractive character in the midpalate, chalky red fruits, and actually more substance and integration than I first found on a second look. From a 2006 Bordeaux tasting at four years of age. 16.5+/20 (November 2010)

Château Langoa-Barton (St Julien) 2006: This wine shows creamy fruit at first, although with a little time in the glass it shows nutty oak as the dominant aroma. Very supple, well composed, with an elegant middleweight texture and a nice tannic grip. This has a very good integration of its elements. Very appealing. From a tasting of 2006 Bordeaux at two years of age. 16.5+/20 (October 2008)
