*THIS IS 1 X LE SERRE NUOVE DELLA ORNELLAIA 2011 & 1 X LE VOLTE DELLA ORNELLAIA 2012*

Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia 2011, a dense, concentrated wine yet at the same time elegant and smooth, expresses perfectly the superb quality of the 2011 vintage. A remarkably emphatic nose is laden with well-ripened wild red berryfruit, spice, and peppery balsam. In the mouth, its superb ripeness immediately impresses, as do the silky, high-gloss tannins, dense-packed yet supple. It displays significant ageing potential, but is perfectly enjoyable today.

The Le Volte is an interesting Super Tuscan blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromatic nose of red fruit and pepper spice. In the mouth, the wine is bountiful, with more fruit flavour, raspberry and a little darker fruit flavour of blueberry, some leather notes toward the finish, which is dry and fresh.

Since its inception in 1981 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia very quickly gained international recognition and established itself as a world-class producer. Located in the medieval village of Bolgheri, made famous by the presence of the pioneering estate Tenuta San Guido, this coastal area of Tuscany had already established itself as a region whose finest vineyards were able to produce wine of the highest calibre.
