Description

Iconic Rioja from a top vintage (best of the 1970s?) and from a time when Rioja was made properly. Rioja specialists The Sampler sell old vintages of Monte Real as they are big fans.

In the most recent review I can find (Jan/Feb 2015 issue), professional critic John Gilman gives the wine 95 pts. A drinking date of up to 2035 is given.

These wines are in truly superb condition. They were issued as a library release from the Bodega in 2005, so the labels and fill levels are truly excellent. Each bottle comes with it's own individual gift box.

Fill levels for all the bottles are all 1cm or less from the capsule/cork.

Best price in the UK is around £140 per bottle at FRW.

There is no reserve on this lot of 6 bottles.
