Description

The ’95 was a much more lush, voluptuous wine. All curves and creamy notes, a wine that lingered on the palate, honey, dried apricot and tangerines, the truffle being a bit less obvious on this wine but still underlining the aromas of the wine. The orange marmalade flavours tempered by gingerbread spice and dark honey.

You don’t just savour Chateau d’Yquem, you wallow in it, surrendering to it’s seductive lusciousness. Only the tingling acidity which fills your mouth on the finish reminds you that you are partaking of such a wondrous beverage. It is difficult to believe that these wines are 18 years old and will continue to live on for many years, but it is a testament to the terroir and winemaking heritage of the chateau.
