Description

Michel & Stephane Ogier Condrieu La Combe de Malleval 2013:

From vines on the southern tip of Condrieu, Stéphane stresses the importance of retaining the acidity and freshness in the Viognier grapes, not allowing a hint of over-ripeness to sneak in. Colour is a bright, pale golden-green, with intense aromas of white peach, fresh apricot and spice. This is a pure, stony wine with a smooth, creamy texture and fine, concentrated flavours.

Coudoulet De Beaucastel Cotes Du Rhone Blanc 2013:

Despite some patchy weather during the 2013 growing season, this well known Cotes du Rhone white from Beaucastel is showing really well. Full-flavoured, with exotic notes of stone fruit and white flowers, a delicious intensity and the necessary acidity to allow it to develop further in the cellar, this wine easily overshadows many more expensive offerings from neighbouring Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Each vintage of Coudolet Blanc is taken from a 30-hectare plot of vines east of the Beaucastel vineyard, next to the northern border of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The hand-picked grapes are partially fermented in oak, which develops some additional richness and complexity. 30% Bourboulenc, 30% Marsanne, 30% Viognier, 10% Clairette.

Montirius Gigondas Confidentiel 2010:

The Gigondas Confidentiel is the smallest production cuvee and is 80% Grenache and 20% Moruvedre brought up all in concrete. It has beautiful purity in its ripe plum and blackberry fruits, violets and mint aromatics. These give way to a medium to full-bodied, rounded and beautifully textured Gigondas. Now in a great spot having had time to mature in bottle.

All bought and stored with Berry Brothers and Rudd until removed from bond recently.
