When to drink: 2012 to 2016
67% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Sémillon. Printed 15% alcohol in Gérard Perse's brochure, but we are all told that is an error and in fact it’s 14%. 50% new oak, 50% one year old. Sweet and rich on the nose. Very big and fat; it certainly tastes as though it could be 15% but it is not heavy. Just not that distinguished but a nice change from the dry, sweet reds served before it. Very florally scented, heavy, rich and almost botrytised. Needs very rich food with it but certainly taken to the limit. Jancis Robinson
