Description

Critic tasting note: (2013 vintage) "Dark, elegant ruby red. Expressive nose of hazelnuts, dried rose petal, latte and oak." - Falstaff 88/100 Points
Flag of the Cantine Giacomo Montresor, this bottle is an icon of Valpolicella reaching more than 50 countries all over the world. It was 1921 when Giacomo Montresor patented this frosted bottle to protect its precious contents from the sun-light of the ocean, during the first ship transports to North America. Since then this Amarone is unique, original and iconic and oozing timeless elegance.
Winemaking
The hand-picked grapes are selected bunch per bunch and are placed in small racks to dry during the winter months. A soft pressing follows with a slow fermentation on the skins.
Ageing in oak barrels for about 18 months.
Producer Tasting Notes: Deep garnet red. On the nose scents of ripe red fruit with delicated spicy notes. On the palate well-bodied, warm and velvety with raspberry and undergrowth aftertaste.
