3 bottles of this powerful but relatively elegant McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Australian wine critic Jeremy Oliver rated this 96 points in 2008 with the following description:
"A finely crafted and superbly structured Shiraz whose slightly closed and withdrawn bouquet gradually unfolds layers of brooding, briary fruit and tightly balanced oak. Long, evenly balanced and sumptuously fruited, its deliciously spicy and focused palate delivers mouthfilling small berry flavour and dusty French oak undertones framed by fine grained tannins. With a terrific structure and surprising elegance, it should cellar superbly over the medium to long term."

Impenetrable black-purple. Intense, yummy and actually reasonably complex nose. Ripe dark fruit (black cherries, blackcurrants), violets, bilberry, dark chocolate, touch of spice, vanilla and cedar. Intense, round, smooth, rich, well bodied palate. A lot of fine tannin and strong acid. Dark fruit and chocolate dominate on palate. Reasonable length. Very enjoyable McLaren Vale shiraz.
