Description

1 bottle, in near perfect condition.

Parusso is one of the great modern Piemontese wineries particularly known for its cru Barolos. 2015 is an excellent Piemonte vintage, especially for Barolo, and this wine is just now starting to come into its drinking window - take your time with this one and see how it evolves over an evening.

1 bottle of half a case I split with a friend on release and stored in my climate-controlled (12°C, 60% humidity) cellar since. This wine easily has legs for another 10-20 years but I have to clear out the cellar to make some space!

"This 2015 Barolo Bussia is a subdued and elegant expression with notes of soft cherry and spice. Like the other Barolo crus from Parusso, this one is aged in barrique on its sediments for about 18 months. The result is a rather loosely knit wine bringing out dark fruit, spice and toasted nut. There is also some candied orange peel at the back. The effect is soft and smooth, and it's a pleasant drinking wine. It's another very nice Barolo from a legendary vineyard. "Monforte d’Alba. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Hints of spice (from oak but extremely skilfully done) with ripe cherry and strawberry fruit lurking underneath. Minerally, concentrated fruit palate with a charge of crunchy tannins. Holds back a little on the finish although this is potentially big. Very long and persistently tannic and aromatic.
