Description

Three bottles from a newly opened OWC.

This is getting some rave reviews on Cellartracker recently:

2/7/2016 - GRANTSKY WROTE: 94 Points
Wow, this wine had amazing freshness. The cork showed impeccable storage and seal. strawberry, raspberry, plum, cinnamon, leather, fennel, tarragon, earth. Palate is what makes this wine. Fresh acidity, medium, silky body, outstanding mouthfeel. I wouldnt call it a polished, but I wouldnt say rustic either; the perfect median. With proper storage this has 10+ years of quality drinking.

2/6/2016 - OWEN97 LIKES THIS WINE: 95 Points
This is what Northern Rhone Syrah is all about. Jaboulet wines were better when they were more rustic. Frey can keep her modern polished wines. I will treasure my last few Thalabert '99's.

12/7/2015 - THEWINEOCEROS WROTE: 92 Points
Game, fur, autumn in a glass. At its peak, and enjoyed immensely by all. Amazing what Crozes can do with a little patience. Unlike any other place in the world. Great stuff.

7/25/2015 - TOOCH WROTE: 92 Points
TGIF (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): A traditional approach to Crozes-Hermitage. Clayton mentioned that compared to more modern CH, this didn't "have the gloss" of many of the wines coming from there today. This was edgier, more meaty, more earthy - almost like a young Cornas. It's the kind of syrah I like.
