Hermitage La Chapelle 1994 RP 89

One bottle of this well known northern Rhone wine.

“A dark ruby/plum color, the bouquet offers scents of damp forest, underbrush, prune, truffles, and roasted meats. Medium-bodied, soft, attractively rich, fresh, and vigorous, this excellent La Chapelle can be drunk now, or aged for 15 more years.

Tom Cannavan 92/100.
“Very deep ruby/black. Nose is quite plummy and deep. Much more evolved. Notes of bacon fat. Very unctuous and delicious in the mouth. Full-bodied with very rich, ripe fruit. Still has good tannic backbone and will keep, but drinking really well.
Tasted: 1-Jan-1999”

Very good bottle. Served along side 1997 (magnum) and 1999 and it was my favorite of the three.

This wine has been in my cellar, stored properly, for over 10 years. The bottle on sale is the one shown in the photographs. The bottle is generally in decent condition.
