Description

cellar thinning to make way for 08s and 09s
1 bottle each of 2001, 2004 and legendary 2005

2001 - Decanter 5*
The phenomenally talented Nicolas Thienpont has hit the bullseye here. Lovely, frank, healthy nose. Beautiful wood. Very glossy. Excellent. The texture is as smooth as a baby's skin. It oozes fruit. A magnificent wine that bowled me over, figuratively of course.

2004 - Decanter 5* rated in recent tasting
Sweet, intense, plummy, oak. A touch of mint gives finesse, whiff of expresso. Very rich though no blockbuster, fleshy and open, big ripe tannins, fine acidity. Still tight but fine potential, plenty of lift and elegance, excellent length. Drink 2011-27.

2005 - parker 98pts - drinking window to 2040 !
Still to reach its peak but already retailing at over £100/bottle this one will exceed the 01 and 04, but not for while yet.
