Description

In the Toro region, the excellence of Viñedos Alonso Del Yerro becomes Paydos. The pure expression of the character and breed of Tinta de Toro in its most privileged vineyards.
It is born from a selection of plots with clay-calcareous and granite soils, generating a round wine, full of energy and depth. It comes from 80-year-old Tinta de Toro glasses, from one of the best areas of Morales de Toro. Harvested by hand for an exclusive production of only 5,000 bottles.
THE «TERROR»
A plain of sandy gravel with red clay, located at an altitude of 720m. The free-standing vineyard is about 80 years old and is planted in a goblet. The area has a continental climate with extreme temperatures, a wide temperature range and a rainfall of about 400mm per year.
THE VINTAGE
Hot and dry year, with a particularly extreme month of July. But thanks to a more normal month of August, some decisive rains and the age of our vineyard, the warm character of the grape was avoided. Great concentration of fruit and elegant tannins for this vintage.
ELABORATION
Harvested on September 28. Made in 50 Hl tanks. Gentle extraction to respect the raw material. Macerations of 22 and 24 days; 10% whole grape. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and aging for 15 months on fine lees.
Grapes: 100% Tinta de Toro
Intense aroma of freshly ripe raspberries and blackberries, highly concentrated fruity. Strawberry compote, pure cocoa and floral touches are also perceived.
The fruity and spicy mouth develops its structure with great density. Fluid, energetic, with a deep flavor. Polished and soft tannins, with little acidity and fruity notes.
