Description

For auction is a bottle of the spectacular Penfolds Grange from 2005.

Penfolds 'Rewards of Patience' details this wine as follows:

"Deep crimson-purple. Glossy cranberry / blueberry / rhubarb / herb garden aromas with plenty of netmeg / malty seasoned, new American oak. A very elemental wine with smooth , ripe cranberry / blueberry / blackberry pastille flavours, plenty of fruit sweetness, roasted nut / malty characters and fine, dense, muscular tannins. It finishes chalky firm, but long and sweet. An impressive young wine with plenty of fruit power, line and length. Will need time to unfold. 95.9% Shiraz, 4.1% Cabernet Sauvignon."

This wine was given a Penfolds star to highlight an exceptional vintage and will reach it's peak between 2014 and 2045 - so one for the long run if stored properly. I have opened a bottle of 2005 Grange to see what a young Grange tastes like and it was absolutely superb.

I bought this wine upon release from Addison's Wines and it has been stored in a proper wine store at 14 degrees ever since and is in perfect condition. The photo of the actual bottle for auction shows the bottle number as 48338. If you check out the current prices Berry Bros & Rudd are asking £330.00 a bottle for this wine.

Postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery is based on actual cost and is £13.00 (polystyrene tube and strong outer box £3.25 and Special Delivery £9.75).
