From humble beginnings in the early 1950's to the icon it has become today, Penfolds Grange is engrained into the wine psyche of wine lovers across the world. The vision of Max Schubert has borne an Australian legend that is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. A multi-regional masterpiece that shows power, concentration and balance to showcase the very best in Australian wine. John Duval's Grange from 1988 has a richly extravagant palate with complex mocha, dark chocolate, dark berry, herb fruit and dense ripe tannins. Finishes chalky firm but superbly long and flavourful. A great Grange still on the ascendancy.
This bottle bought in 1990 has been kept in a private cellar since.
