Description

Bought on BFW in June 2016 & stored in my Eurocave until 2020 at which point it was transferred to Nickolls & Perks temperature controlled storage until February 2023. As you can see from the images the fill level is into the neck & the bottle is in excellent condition. See notes below-

95/100 Tom Cannavan, tasted January 2006
The blend for Grange this year is 99% Shiraz & only 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wether or not that 1% can make much influence on the character of the wine is a moot point, but Peter Gago says that the quality of this Cabernet was so good that it earned its place in Grange. For the first time ever, this Grange is made from all Barossa fruit & spent 17 months all new American hogsheads. Chocolate & spice dominate the nose, with a great, dark, plummy, brooding presents. There are hints of tobacco & pepper, but this is mostly about a weight of ripe, thick black fruit. On the palate there are flavours of plum & Agen punes, with huge concentration. Tannins are Svelte & dense, with a liquoricy quality & lots of gripping texture. There is plenty of length here in a supple, outstanding Grange.
