Description

For sale is two bottles of the super rare Penfolds Special Bin 620 (2008), which was released at the back end of 2011. Slurp was the sole retail wine merchant selling this special release and stocks were extremely limited. The retail price per individual bottle was £750.00 including duty and VAT etc and very few individual bottles were available for purchase and very quickly sold out.

The packaging is superb, in a presentation box that is a type of padded soft leather (or high grade substitute) with the title of the wine embossed.

Below is information from the Penfolds press release:

Bin 620 is a unique Australian blend - Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - true to the Penfolds house style and worthy of Special Bin status.

Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, the 1966 Penfolds Bin 620 Coonawarra Cabernet Shiraz was almost as famous as the legendary 1962 Penfolds Bin 60A Coonawarra Cabernet Kalimna Shiraz. It enjoyed plenty of success at Australia's major capital wine shows and was considered a classical wine style.

In 2008, when Penfolds winemakers tasted several rows of the Coonawarra blocks (5, 10 and 20), they realised that they had something extra, something unique. According to John Bird, former Penfolds Senior Winemaker and consultant, "having tasted many parcels of Coonawarra fruit it became apparent that we simply had to make this wine."

Since taking delivery the wine has been stored in a proper wine store at 14 degrees and both bottles are in perfect condition.

I cannot accept Paypal due to their excessive fees, which most sellers tend to pass on to their buyers. Bank transfers are free, instant and just as secure. I am happy to accept cheques from UK banks or cash if collecting in person.

Shipping is by Royal Mail Special Delivery (2kg to 10kg) and insurance level at £2,500.00 - listed on Royal Mail website at £27.50.
