Description

A successful and reliable vintage Warm and sunny conditions from April through to June meant early flowering and fruit set in all parts of the region. Rain towards the end of August enabled the vineyards to see through a very hot and dry September without ill effects. Picking began up to two weeks early and Montalcino was all over by 21st September. The harvest gave very healthily, ripe fruit with high sugar content The third hot vintage in a row in Tuscany. Quantities are up but the quality is good to very good. Both Sangiovese wines and the international varietals should be very full-bodied, soft, and deeply colored across the whole region

Petrolo is a leading wine estate in Tuscany, Italy. It is located a mile or so to the east of Chianti Classico, within the Chianti Colli Aretini zone. It is widely regarded as rivaling many Chianti Classico properties in terms of quality and is best known for its high-quality Sangiovese-based wines
