Description

Grape Varieties
25% Sangiovese & 75% Cabernet Sauvignon

The grapes are hand harvested in September from the Pietradonice vineyard. The vineyard has a marl like soil and is situated 275 metres above sea level in the Montalcino area. Maceration and fermentation takes place; 18 days for the Sangiovese and 16 days for the Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is then blended and aged for a total of 18 months in 225 litre French oak barrels. Limited annual production.

Pietradonice is a unique vineyard. Special attention has been paid to agronomic management and planting demsity and the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate and a particular marl like soil. The results are astonishing.

Pietradonice has a deep red colour, particular richness in taste, density and smooth tannins with a sweet and very long finish.
