In his Top 100 Wines of 2019, James Suckling voted the 100 point Renieri Brunello di Montalcino 2015 #2 position.

The Renieri estate is widely acknowledged to be one of Brunello di Montalcino’s highest quality producers. Situated on the southern part of Montalcino on high altitude slopes, the soil here is diverse and iron-rich – not common in Montalcino. Vines are planted densely to keep yields extremely low. This is a recipe for wines which have a unique character. Owner and Winemaker Marco Bacci puts meticulous work into his vineyards to produce the best possible Sangiovese fruit.

The 2015 vintage in Brunello will be celebrated in decades to come. Suckling called it a “fairy tale vintage” and wrote that “The 2015 vintage is a historical year for Brunello di Montalcino that nobody should miss. The wines show impressive precision of vivid fruit, fine tannins and freshness in acidity despite their ripeness and richness which makes them some of the most exciting in years.”

An esteemed producer and a fantastic year combine to produce an unmissable wine, which will age for decades.
