Description

The 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Olivets is the entry-level wine of the estate and is based on 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Cinsault. Always a forward and charming wine that drinks well right out of the gate, the 2018 is no exception. It has incredibly Provençal notes of black cherries, Provençal spice, garrigue, and ground pepper. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it displays the vintage’s front end-loaded, sexy, charming style to a T. It should drink well for 7-8 years. I don’t think it’s meant for the long haul, but I think it will offer plenty of pleasure right out of the gate. Jeb Dunnuck
