Description

Plenty of countries in wider Europe also enjoyed excellent years, Italy had a legendary vintage
The estate Brunello sees 12 months in new and used French oak, 12 months in casks, and at least six months in bottle.
The company was founded by Silvio Nardi in 1950 upon his purchase of the west-facing Casale del Bosco estate west of Montalcino. Tenute Silvio Nardi released its first vintage of Brunello di Montalcino eight years later and in 1962, Nardi expanded the estate's winemaking operations with the acquisition of the Manachiara estate and its 40 hectares (99 acres) of the east- and southeast-facing vineyards.
From 1990, Tenute Silvio Nardi has been under the control of Emilia Nardi. She has overseen the release of the estate's premium single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino wines.
