Description

For Sale - 1 Magnum (150cl) of N.V. TAITTINGER PRELUDE, CHAMPAGNE from my private collection.

This is the brand-new disgorgement based on the 2012 vintage. I have a few so thought I’d sell this one.

The average price for a single Magnum = £115 Vat & Duty paid.

My Reserve is set to £65.00

One of Champagne s largest houses, Taittinger is also among the region s largest landholders, with their 288 hectares of vineyards supplying some 40% of their requirements. Since 2006—once again under family control—Taittinger has been going from strength to strength. Taittinger is farming in pursuit of riper, more concentrated fruit—and the Prélude Grands Crus, is a seriously age-worthy Champagne that sometimes gets somewhat lost in the Taittinger range.

“The new release of Taittinger s NV Brut Prélude Grands Crus was disgorged last year after six years sur lattes and finished with a dosage of six grams per liter. Unfurling in the glass with notes of fresh peach, brioche, citrus rind and a deft touch of smoky reduction, it s full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a concentrated and muscular but elegant profile, displaying a bright girdle of acidity and a long, penetrating finish. Based on the 2012 vintage and sourced largely from Avize, Mesnil, Mailly and Verzenay, it s an excellent bottling that still flies somewhat under the radar. Drink 2019-2033.”
