Description

1x bottle of the acclaimed single quinta Port 'Quinta de Vargellas' by Taylor's Port House. Bottle in excellent condition, having being stored in cool dark cellar since purchase.

'Taylor’s produce arguably the finest, most ageworthy vintage ports. They own three estates, including Quinta de Vargellas, regarded as one of the finest vineyards in the world. After every harvest each property’s top wines are kept aside to age. After two years, a tasting panel judges whether the wines are worthy of being declared ‘vintage’ - to be blended into Taylors or kept as a single quinta. Quinta de Vargellas 2004 was so good, most was kept separate for this. It's an exceptionally fine port, entirely made from the finest grapes of this one estate, in the hilly reaches of eastern Douro. Grapes are pressed the traditional way, by foot in granite lagares, to extract most flavour, then cool fermented in stainless steel. Enjoy now or age.'

'Single quinta, 93 point vintage port from Taylor’s, “the Latour of the Douro” (Robert Parker). Winemaker David Guimaraens described this devine, rich and complex port as "the single quinta star of the decade." Delicious now and for another 25 years.'
