Description

A sensational and rare bottle of Spain's most expensive and arguably most fashionable wine. Most importantly it tastes formidable as I can vouch for at my last tasting at The Ledbury in London where we were allowed to take a bottle. Sadly I can't justify drinking this level of wine any more but it really is a silky, deep, complex and harmonious Spanish legend moving currently around the £400+ a btl mark yet still plenty of years ahead of it.

The color is an extraordinarily intense, full and bright red rarely found in a wine over 20 years old. The bouquet is an explosion of scents of blueberry and blackberry gelatin that is never tame while with adequate breathing emerge notes of spice and dark chocolate that I have never found in any other wine. The balsamic component plays a key role in this giant. The mouthfeel is distinguished by its harmony and vigor, balance and stimulation. The endless and eternal length is amazing.
