Description

A very rare bottle of Cognac. Cheapest I can find for sale in the UK for a 1969 Delamain Grande Champagne is £425 at the Whisky Exchange but I have set a much lower reserve. The back label indicates that this was bottled in London and has the number 131 of a limited edition of 300.....which by my reckoning is a single barrel.

The front label indicates it was landed in 1972 and bottled in 1989 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution.

This is a "Grande Champagne" (as opposed to a "Petite Champagne"), which are the most prestigious Cognacs. Delamain was founded 250 years ago and is renowned for its smooth, elegant, and wonderfully fragrant Cognacs.

The label is in very good condition for the age of the bottle, with just a few scrapes and a small bit of discolouration. The foil has a couple of nicks but is well intact, as is the cork. The colour is lovely but difficult to capture in a photograph. Imagine a beautiful mid-amber. The fill is shown in the photographs.
