Description from Veuve Clicquot, Communication Team, France:

1979 is definitely a great vintage in Champagne. The wines are very concentrated and structured due to the low yield of this harvest.
If you wish to taste this bottle (which should be to its highest peak in terms of aromas and flavours) you will have a great experience.
It should have a deep gold color, and a very intense and complex nose. Typically, after almost 29 years of ageing, the aromas are very toasty and yeasty : almonds, hazelnut, marzipan, even honey or gingerbread,.... The palate should be rich and creamy with a superb structure, which is typically the style of Veuve Clicquot Vintages.

Our advice is still to serve this wine along with food : chicken breasts with a yellow chanterelles and creamy sauce would make a perfect match. And of course some very good friends to share it !
In this case, do not hesitate to give us your comments about this great bottle.

You can try to get in touch with famous auctions companies (Sotheby's, Christie's...) or try E-Bay if you really want to sell this bottle.
As far as value is concerned, it can be estimated to about £300- 350, if the bottle is in mint condition and has been well stored.
