Description

Two bottles, selling in two separate lots.

These are in immaculate condition, from a private Yorkshire cellar. I knew the owner very well and these will have been lying undisturbed in his private cellar since purchase, almost certainly from the Wine Society en primeur.

One still has an untouched paper wrap, the other wrap is intact but in less good condition (the one shown unwrapped in the pictures), but both the bottles themselves are identical and pristine.

Both levels are just 1cm below the capsule, so well into the neck.

Classic in style, the wine is more interesting on the nose with its mix of tobacco leaf, flowers, truffle, wet earth, cocoa and red fruits. Elegant, refined, fresh and pure, this is quite nice now, and promises to be even better with more cellaring. The wine was made from blending 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
