Description

One bottle of this wine from a well-known and highly rated domaine in Chateauneuf du Pape.

“The elegant, restrained 1999 may not possess the power, majesty or aging potential of the 1998 or 2000, but it is a stylish effort. Dark ruby coloured, with a bouquet of sweet black fruit intertwined with mineral, licorice and resin, it is layered, long and deep, with bright acidity as well as firm tannin in the finish. Cellar it for several years and drink it over the following 12-15. Sandwiched between the full throttle 1998 and 2000 the 1999 will be overlooked. Score: 88.”

This bottle comes from a full wooden case bought on release from reputable English wine merchants and stored since purchase at home in a dark, underground cellar.

The bottle on sale is the one shown on the photographs. As can be seen, the bottle, label and capsule are in good condition, with a good level well into the neck.
