Description

This is a single bottle of the delightful Villa Cafaggio Cortaccio 1995. Drinking superbly now, but with plenty of life left, this Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely wine. The wine was bought by me in the late 90s and has been stored in my Eurocave since then. The label has some marks on it from the shelving as you would expect. The capsule is clean and there are no signs of seepage.

Reviews are pretty thin on the ground but I found this one on Tanzer's site:

Solid dark ruby-violet, but not purple. Nicely integrated berry, mineral, cedar and herbal aromas, with sweet, forward vanillin oak. Full body. Concentrated cassis and earth flavors (very cabernet, Tuscan style); fine sweetness is balanced by ripe, properly extracted tannins. Fruit, vanillin oak and minerals flow across the middle palate, with only an odd, resiny note to disturb the finish. Still has youthful restraint, and should benefit from six to eights years of aging. Very well done. ***- (Classic Wine Imports, Boston, MA)
