Description

Rosé wine is a cornerstone of Puglia’s viticulture, particularly in the Salento area. In the past, the first grape must that trickled out of the vast stone wine vats would be fermented separately and used to make unbottled rosé wine known as “lagrima” that was kept for drinking at home, and much loved by the rural community.

Today, the classic pink colour is extracted from Susumaniello (a rare native Puglian variety) grapes through a short maceration of a few hours, followed by fermentation off the skins, and several months of ageing in steel vats.

This is a proper foody rosé, full of flavour and very dry. Citrus, red berries, good acidity. From the cooler hills of the Valle d'Itria.
