Description

A superb old bottle of Cointreau Liqueur Extra Dry, produced in Angers, France, presented in the famous square amber Cointreau bottle.

This is a particularly attractive pre-metric bottling, labelled at 70° Proof and containing 24 Imperial Fluid Ounces (approximately 682ml) – a presentation very different from today's modern Cointreau bottles.

The bottle retains some wonderful period details, including the original aged paper label, gold closure, neck detailing and the distinctive red ribbon running through the glass Cointreau seal on the shoulder.

Please note this bottle could have been opened

Cointreau is one of France's great historic liqueurs, an intensely aromatic orange liqueur traditionally produced using sweet and bitter orange peels. This older bottle makes an excellent example of how the famous spirit was presented to the British market many decades ago.
