Description

A single bottle of the 2005 legndary vintage Bopparder Hamm Mandelstein Riesling Spätlese from Weingut August Perll, recently taken from its original case (OCC), in pristine condition with excellent fill and label integrity.

Sourced from the steep slate vineyards above the Rhine, Mandelstein is known for producing Rieslings of precision, structure, and mineral depth. The 2005 vintage in Germany is widely regarded as spectacular, with an ideal growing season and a prolonged, warm autumn that allowed full phenolic ripeness across all major wine regions. This bottle was awarded Goldener Preis at the Bundesweinprämierung on release, reflecting its quality from the outset.

Now fully mature, the wine should display layered notes of honeyed orchard fruit, citrus preserve, and slate-driven minerality, carried by a still-lively backbone of acidity.

A well-preserved bottle at peak maturity, and a particularly fitting 21st birthday gift for a 2005 birth year.
