Description

Six bottles from Weingut Bründlmayer in Langenlois, Kamptal, all from the 2020 vintage. Two bottles each of three wines.

Grüner Veltliner Ried Loiserberg 1ÖTW. A single-site Grüner from a classified vineyard at 380 metres, facing south to south-east. Stony brown earth over gneiss and mica schist, with loess lower down. The style is lean and mineral.

Riesling Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW. Austria’s best known Riesling site, at Zöbing. The rock is 250 million year old desert sandstone with loess in the cracks. It gives a firm Riesling that ages well.

Grüner Veltliner The Heritage Cuvée, Langenlois. Blended for The Wine Society from four terraced sites: Spiegel, Wechselberg, Schenkenbichl and Käferberg. Half was raised in stainless steel and half in 2,500 litre old Austrian oak casks. The Wine Society gives it a drinking window to 2030.

This is The Wine Society’s own six-bottle case from its 2020 Bründlmayer en primeur offer. 2020 was a cool year in the Kamptal, so all three are fresh and firm.

The wines are in bond. Duty and VAT are not paid.

The case has been in professional storage since purchase. I will arrange dispatch directly from Lay and Wheeler after payment. Payment by bank transfer.
