Description

Sergio Zenato and life long partner Carla Prospero have been visionaries looking to make wines that are emotive and are true to the lands they cultivate. From Garda to Valpolicella they own 100 hectares and produce a number of different style wines but all true to the region.

Among the hills north of Verona, Valpolicella Classica stretches across a landscape shaped by time, where vines grow alongside olive trees and ancient drystone walls. This is the birthplace of Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta, noble grapes that give life to wines of depth, intensity and timeless elegance.

From the selection of the vineyards with the highest quality vocation, the Riserva is born: an Amarone that takes shape only in certain plots, where agronomists and oenologists recognize absolute excellence. The Corvina and Rondinella grapes come from the oldest vineyards in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. After drying, the wine matures for almost 5 years in Slavonian oak barrels.

To the eye it is compact and bright, the nose releases a deep elegance, made up of spicy and complex notes, which fully tell the story of its territory. It bears the signature of the founder, Sergio Zenato, and represents the symbolic wine with which experience and tradition are confronted in the world. A red of great character and longevity, capable of evolving over time with extraordinary finesse.

Presentation, capsule and colour all indicate well looked after bottles. We have more from the same case available. Currently lying in a wine merchant’s premises. This represents great value as this top of the pyramid wine from Sergio Zenato has a rrp of up to £180 per bottle.
