Description

1920 was described by Michael Broadbent as the most glorious and romantic vintage of the twentieth century, and this particular offering from the oldest Madeira exporter - Cossart-Gordon - features in Hugh Johnson's book 1001 Wines to try Before You Die. Absolute heaven!

This particular bottle had an absolutely astonishing fill level still into the neck - please see pic 4. Sorry, it's a bit unclear due to the dark glass, but you should just about be able to see if you squint.

There are a couple of nicks to the capsule and the lettering printed on the bottle is partially chipped away, but I'd be surprised if a bottle with better preserved contents exists.
