Description

Chasse-Spleen is generally acknowledged as the foremost Chateau in Moulis.When young,the wines are very tannic and for good vintages (like 1996) they develop beautifully and are at their best at least ten years after release,when the wine is more mature and balanced.

"Dinner with Friends.
My last bottle, back-decanted for a couple of hours and well matched with our cheese course. Fine, mature, traditional dark-fruited claret with a firm core acidity perhaps starting to move towards leanness with age.
Drink by the end of the decade".

"Definitively better than many Chasse Spleen had over recent years, reconciling me with the château. Typical nose of a well matured Bordeaux, cedar, leather, vanilla, tobacco. Very charming in the mouth, mature cherry, black currant, cedar, liquorice, chocolate, medium toast. Fully developed and at its peak. Enjoy now".
