Description

Ermm, well, now how do you say this ? Here goes...
These are MYSTERY bottles purchased from a Suffolk retired bank manager.
There are no labels BUT there is a good wax seal over the cork in good condition. 1949 is clearly visible and it states R.M.Bird, Stratford upon Avon. I cannot find any additional information on this company but am sure it is their bottling from barrel. As port buffs will know, up to the late sixties and even in the 70s UK bottling was frequent even amongst the great and the good in the port wine trade and curiously labels were never the "must" they have now become.
