Description

THREE lots of TWO bottles.

All in "out of the box" condition 'cos they are straight out of the box having recently been released from long term bond.

Graham’s wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos near Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta de Vale de Malhadas, also supply Graham with finest quality grapes. All four Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham’s
also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their grapes to Graham’s for generations.

Tasting Notes
Grahams 1991 Vintage is an immensely sturdy wine. It has a very attractive nose reminiscent of blackberries and violets.
Although still very firm on the palate, the typical intense rich succulent fruit is forthcoming. A vintage which is now
starting to drink very well, but will also repay further keeping.

JANCIS - Mid crimson with some dark notes still. Very hot, alcoholic nose. Rather seductively, roundly perfumed. Quite evolved but it has evolved into something rather attractive. The thwack of ripe fruit is followed only at some interval by tight, well held-together tannins. This has more to give than it seems at first. Quite a dry finish – especially for a Graham’s port. 16/20
(Jancis Robinson MW - jancisrobinson.com – October 2004)

WA - Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black color, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port.
