“Interesting” stories are often those of the underdog, where inexperience unexpectedly triumphed. But one winemaker who really deserves to be talked about is Pierre Vincent – AKA the man behind the finest white in the Côte de Nuits.
His reputation has been blossoming over the last few vintages – success that has been roundly acclaimed by awards such as the Red Winemaker of the Year and a quartet of gold medals for his 2011 Corton-Charlemagne at last year’s International Wine Challenge. His winemaking style may be “very soft” but that most certainly translates into a wine with aromas that “instantly command your attention”.
