(90-93 points) A similar nose save for being a bit more elegant precedes the rich, vibrant and finer medium-bodied flavors that possess notably better delineation and especially so on the beautifully long and complex finale. This is an unusually good example of Macherelles and a wine that should drink well young but have no problem rewarding up to a decade of bottle age.

(91-93 points) Replanted in 2003. Pretty pale lemon colour, with a light nose, a touch of biscuit from the barrel. This is actually very stylish on the palate, building a bit of flesh at the back, nicely crisp too, with some good tension and certainly impressive length. No hydric stress here.
