Description


Amarone Riserva 2016 is a limited edition of only 1600 bottles produced by the Bonfanti winery in Verona Italy.

IWSC Silver Certified winner by a committee of 7 judges with 91/100 points, it is an extraordinary wine made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina. After careful manual harvesting, the best grapes are dried in special ventilated rooms for about three months. The grapes are then pressed and the must obtained begins a slow fermentation on the skins for about 30 days. After racking off the wine is decanted into oak barrels where it rests for at least the next four years. It will remain in the bottle for a further 8 months to complete its ageing. Amarone is a wine that can be stored for decades.

Spicy with aromas of tobacco and black pepper, notes of cherry and dried fruit, it is strongly fruity, with a marked fragrance, soft, robust, warm and vigorous.

It pairs well with beef, venison, mature cheeses or as a meditation wine.

Decanting is recommended.
