Usually I don't add a reserve, but this is becoming a rarity in this vintage.
Absolutely amazing. Looks like liquid caramel coming out of the bottle when poured. It's full-bodied, thick and very sweet, with butterscotch, toffee, honey and caramel aromas and flavors. One of the world's great dessert wines. Will age for a long time to come. Drink now through 2020. 265 cases made. –JS, Wine Spectator 100 /100

It is difficult to talk about this wine if you've never had it before. There is nothing in the world remotely close to the experience that this bottle gives. It pours like molasses and I mean thick molasses, oozing out of the bottle more than flowing, its' aromas fill the room instantly. The creme brulee like aromas last forever in the glass. The microscopic amount of this wine that is produced is absurd, no more than 3000 half bottles. The Malvasia grapes are first dried for 3-5 months and then pressed, the juice is put into 50 liter barrels (the standard wine barrel is 62 gallons) that have Vin Santo Mother Jelly in them and are filled 2/3 full. 7,8 and sometimes 9 years go by in the Vin Santaia or attic of the winery where this wine slowly ferments for a year and then ages in the summer heat and the winter cold for a long time. A heavy dose of oxidation occurs but a gloriously rich, extraordinarily long and spine tingling adventure make this wine worth the price tag. If you've had Vin Santo before and are doubting me this is like no other Vin Santo it is truly the best.
