3 bottles from this traditional producer made from vines from the Montesoli cru, the famous hill north of the town of Montalcino celebrated for producing powerful yet graceful wines. Italian wine critic Kerin O’Keefe describes Baricci’s wines as “traditionally crafted Brunellos boasting earthy and heady aromas of wild cherry, underbrush, leather and tobacco. The palate is always loaded with juicy dark fruit, leather and truffle balanced by impressive depth, power and freshness”.
These wines are from the very good 2009 vintage and have been stored in my spiral cellar since being purchased en-primeur from a reputable UK merchant. The bottles are in good condition and enjoy excellent fill levels (see photographs).
