Description

Rochelt Pflaume - plum fruit brandy 0.7l, 50% alc./vol., vintage 2003, Tyrolean distillery ( Austria ), incl. wooden box.

THE ORIGIN
Only the best fruit in the optimum level of maturity is used for Rochelt fruit spirits. This quality is ensured by working with farmers who enjoy the confidence of Rochelt .

THE MAKING
The pure fruit is crushed and filled into a mash tun. There it is fermented at a temperature of 18 ° C. The generated mash - as it is practice in Tyrol – is fired twice. So - from 100,000 liters of mash – there are distilled almost 7,000 liters of Rochelt fruit spirits every year. Rochelt distills from August to June 30 liters of fruit spirits per day.

THE MATURITY
After distillation, the Rochelt fruit spirits have to be stored. By the time they are milder and softer. Rochelt deposits the fruit spirits at least three years at different temperatures in the glass balloon.

THE ENJOYMENT
Rochelt fruit spirits are high-proof distillates. Although they lose in the maturation per year two percent alcohol by volume, yet Rochelt fruit spirits must be reduced to drinking strength, so they are diluted with water. Like it is usual in Tyrol, the brandy is reduced to 50 percent alcohol content. Customary in Europe are 40 percent of alcohol content with fruit spirits and there is added to them 20 percent more water than to Rochelt fruit spirits.
The higher alcohol level results in a smaller bouquet, but it opens up the full flavor of each fruit to the palate. Rochelt fruit spirits are 100 percent pure spirits. Neither are they stretched with other alcohol, nor are sugar or flavour added.

THE FORM
Rochelt fills the distillate in a very special bottle : it is inspired by the traditional Tyrolean pliers bottle and is like its content: unique. Wooden box and empty bottle are taken back by us and paid.
