1 x Bottle of 1956 Chateau d'Estournel in excellent condition for its age, level is high shoulder which is superb for a bottle of this age, some 61 years.
Capsule & label very good.
The 1956 was by all accounts a sound year, with the Cos d'Estournel being the wine of the vintage, and is without doubt the leading estate in Sainte Estephe, just north of Lafite.
A inky, blue, purple colour with black fruits, incense & smoke on the nose. Cos d'Estournel produce, full bodied, dark, brooding wines which develop a complexity & intensity that can rival many top growths from Pauillac.
