Description

Mid 18th century, the founder Arnaud Ducasse bought a house next to the Gironde river and started to build up this estate to the 40 hectares of vineyard it can now boast. It remained in family hands, but in 1971 was bought by investors, who did just that. A new fermentation cellar was built and modern kit, like an optical sorting machine and an egg shaped fermentation vat, later introduced. Much work has gone on in the vineyards too, as you'd expect of a Bordeaux property of this stature. 2014 was the first vintage with Hubert de Bouärd of Saint Emilion's Château Angélus acting as consultant. Cabernet dominated, this plush textured, dark fruit claret was aged half in new oak for 18 months
